Play-based interventions
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies
Emotion identification and regulation skills
Coping skills development
Problem-solving strategies
Self-esteem and confidence building
Support through life transitions
Individual therapy may be helpful for children and teens experiencing:
Anxiety
Stress
Low self-esteem
Social challenges
Emotional regulation difficulties
Family changes or transitions
School-related concerns
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
Strengthening the Parent-Child Connection While Building Positive Behavior
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based treatment designed to support young children and their caregivers by improving the parent-child relationship while teaching effective strategies for managing challenging behaviors.
PCIT is typically recommended for children ages 2.5 –7 who experience difficulties with:
Frequent tantrums or emotional outbursts
Defiance or difficulty following directions
Aggressive behaviors
ADHD-related behaviors
Parent-child relationship challenges
Unlike traditional child therapy where the therapist works primarily with the child, PCIT focuses on coaching caregivers in real time to strengthen connection, increase positive behaviors, and create more successful interactions at home.
Through PCIT, caregivers learn skills to:
Increase positive attention and connection
Strengthen communication
Encourage appropriate behaviors
Respond consistently to challenging behaviors
Support emotional regulation
PCIT is a collaborative process that empowers caregivers with practical tools they can use long after therapy ends.
Parent Education & Support
Helping Parents Feel More Confident and Connected
Parenting can be challenging, especially when navigating big emotions, behavioral concerns, or developmental differences. Parent education sessions provide caregivers with support, guidance, and practical strategies to better understand and respond to their child’s needs.
Parent support may include:
Understanding child development and behavior
Building stronger parent-child connections
Learning effective communication strategies
Supporting emotional regulation
Developing consistent routines and expectations
Problem-solving challenging situations at home
Parent education and caregiver coaching are incorporated into treatment as clinically appropriate to help families support progress outside of sessions.
Play Therapy
Helping children express emotions, build skills, and navigate challenges through play.
Play therapy uses developmentally appropriate play-based interventions to help children explore emotions, develop coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.
Play therapy may support children experiencing:
Anxiety or big emotions
Life transitions or stressors
Social challenges
Emotional regulation difficulties
Difficulty expressing feelings
